Perhaps she'd enjoy hearing our point of view:

I hated the word "branding" the first time I heard. A phrase filled with air and bullshit. Dr. Leigh's interpretation, as applied to gay marriage is no different.

What a bunch of fucking horse manure!

RICHARD COMMENTS: Do you feel the same way about the word "branding" when it involves bondage, assless chaps and a night at The Black Party?

Like their brand is as prestigous as it use to be, NOT!

It's funny how old fashionned these people's thinking is. Yesterday I was put "on hold" when I called a suppilier somewhere in Florida.

They were discussing the fact the woman do not enforce "commitement" from men, and that is why they are not getting commitement from the men in their lives.
They seem stuck in the 50's!
No factoring in the idea that maybe woman don't need or want commitement like their moms needed back in the 50's...

I actually find the argument thought provoking. The hetero community is more supportive of Civil Unions then Gay Marriage, and they don't care what rights a CU encompasses, they just don't like the concept of marriage given to us. What's in a name? Quite a bit, actually.

Interesting concept, branding... Dr. Margeret Leigh might be the smartest person in South Dumbfuck, Utah considering she possibly has up to ten or fifteen left shoes in her closet for one right shoe...

in her concept marriage might be between a man and a woman... the same man and another women and another... she doesn't seem opposed to same sex unions, just the idea of calling same-sex unions marriage...

I've always thought if gays pursued the right of civil union with all the legal implications afforded to 'married people' two things could happen...

1. the buzz word 'marriage' which so incites the religious right parallel society would be a non-issue

2. breeders who didn't want to be 'married in the Church in God's presence' would sign on to it...

I mean... trying to become included in a society who doesn't want us is futile, raising money for lobbyists to change the wording of the law to civil union could be more productive and many of their people would follow.
