According to the New York Police Department, hate crimes are up nearly 8 percent 
since last year. Here. In New York City. Yuck.
But it gets worse. This increase is mostly fueled by a huge jump in crimes against Jews (28 percent) and gays (20 percent.)
I guess as a gay Jew I might as well just beat the crap out of myself and stay home.
